Stormwater & Flooding Calls
|
Recent storms had streets flooding and water coming out of manhole covers. PLEASE NOTE: these manholes are not Beacon Hill Water and Sewer District (BHWSD) manholes. In the unincorporated areas, they are storm manholes that are owned and maintained either by Cowlitz County Public Works (CCPW) or the Lexington Flood Control Zone District (LFCZD). Do not call BHWSD unless you have sewer backing up. You can reach CCPW and LFCZD at (360) 577-3030. If it is creating a safety hazard, call 911.

Coronavirus concerns
|
We are monitoring development regarding COVID-19 to take precautions to minimize risk and keep our customers and staff safe.
We are open for business; however we encourage you to conduct your business with the District by phone
(360) 636-3860 or email info@bhwsd.org when possible. You may also drop your payment in our drop box across the parking lot from our office building.
Your water is safe to drink and not affected by COVID-19.
|
As part of the effort to improve water quality, the water plant will be increasing levels of dissolved oxygen. The water in some areas may appear to be milky, but do not worry; it is only air bubbles coming out of solution. Letting a glass of water sit for a minute will clear it up. Contact your water purveyor if it causes issues.

Water & Sewer District Website...

Beacon Hill Water and Sewer District (BHWSD) is a special purpose entity which operates under
the authority of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Title 57.
The District covers an area of approximately five square miles in a rural area adjacent to the
cities of Longview and Kelso in Southwest Washington. Interstate 5 runs through the
District.
BHWSD provides water and sewer to approximately 10,000 citizens. Water is distributed through
approximately 55 miles of water mains, with 10 water storage facilities and six booster pump
stations. Ninety-five percent of the customer base is residential. District staff performs all
maintenance, water quality testing and new service or repair requests. Water is provided by the
City of Longview Mint Farm Water Treatment Plant, of which BHWSD is a co-owner.
We operate and maintain the sanitary sewer collection system consisting of approximately 40
miles of sewer pipe and 7 sewer pump stations. Secondary treatment is performed at a regional
facility operated by the Three Rivers Regional
Wastewater Authority comprised of and owned by the cities of Longview and Kelso, Cowlitz County
and the Beacon Hill Water and Sewer District.
